Resources Available to Our Community

The Center Project offers inclusivity training to any group, organization, or workplace that recognizes the importance of intentionally creating welcoming, safe, and supportive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our trainings are tailored to each group's needs, and the information and conversation can range from introductory to advanced.

The purpose of The Center Project’s Emergency Fund is to provide immediate, short-term financial support to LGBTQIA+ adults and/or dependents in Mid-Missouri experiencing financial insecurity and lack of support in our community.

The process of legally changing your name and gender can be quite complicated. Thankfully, many other trans and non-binary people in mid-Missouri have gone through this process and we have pulled together this resource to help guide the way.

These pamphlets were designed and created by our BRITE volunteer educators as resources for LGBTQIA+ individuals as well as those seeking to understand and be in allyship with LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and community.

We know that the subject of faith and spirituality can be very sensitive, particularly for LGBTQIA+ people. We hear the experiences of many people in our community who have been deeply harmed by their experiences with faith and religion. We recognize, respect, and honor the pain and trauma experienced by many queer people. We also hear questions about a spirituality that celebrates and lifts up queer love, joy, compassion, and mystery, those things of wonder and awe.

The Clothing Closet exists to provide LGBTQIA+ folks with free clothing and accessories in a safe, gender affirming, and welcoming environment. As we are able, we also try to provide transition related items to trans and non-binary people who cannot otherwise afford or access these items.

The Center Project proudly houses a tremendous library of books donated by the local community. Our fiction and non-fiction books span a wide array of subjects, issues, and communities, including important classical and historical queer texts.

This list of trans/gender affirming healthcare providers is a community effort and will continue to evolve in response to feedback and recommendations.
