Donate to The Clothing Closet

The Clothing Closet is entirely sustained by community donations, and we are so grateful for our community’s generosity. Monetary donations go towards the purchase of binders, bras, underwear, and forms – items that are expensive and can be difficult to find and safely access. Donations of clothes and accessories are sorted and put out as soon as there is space.

At this time, we are most in need of:

  • Sizes S and XS binders
  • Gently used or new underwear
  • Size 10+ women's shoes
  • Leggings/athletic pants/sweatpants
  • Gently used reusable bags/backpacks

If you have any questions or would like to make a donation, please contact us at closet@thecenterproject.org.

The History of The Closet

The Clothing Closet was started in 2016 by two trans undergraduate students at MU who had identified a need on campus among LGBTQIA+ students. The Closet was originally run out of their garage, and in 2017, they partnered with The Center Project to make their huge stock of clothing and accessories available to the wider LGBTQIA+ community in mid-Missouri.
